Windsurfing: Ynyslas Estuary & Dyfi Wind Direction: NW Wind Stength: 17-25 knots Surf / Sea State: flat to a little lumpy Air Temperature: proper warm Sea Temperature: Weather: Sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Got down to the estuary and rigged up super fast on the same kit as
earlier, 5.8m and flow.
Blasted straight out and was set up really well. Had a few blasts back and
forth and tried a few gybes, some dry but it was a bit sheltered in close
due to the dunes.
Steve joined and we ended up over towards Aberdyfi. I saw Steve over the
other side of the point so a bit later as the sand bars started to appear I
went across to sail the dyfi side.
From Dyfi it was a great session blasting out of the channel into the chop
then swell a bit over powered for quite a while. Ended up quite far out as
it was tricky to bear away for too long. Later as the the sand bars
started to appear we retreated back in to the channel nearer to dyfi and
had a good time there on the flatter water.
My gybing was much, much better and I was tring to keep more speed out of
the turn. Made loads of step gybes but didn't quite make and strap to
staps.
Excellent session in warm sunshine, probably on of my best. 3 or 4 hours of
constant blasting in the afternoon after an hour or so on the sea fron in
the moring. Loads of people out on both sides of the estuary inc Dave and
Sarah again blasting around on the Ynyslas side.
Epic day.
